Centenary of Pitt Street Uniting Organ Concert

Town Hall organist, Robert Goode, presents a widely ranging programme of fine music demonstrating the versatility and beauty of the Pitt Street organ. The programme includes Saint-Saens' famous Carnival of the Animals with the witty introductions by Ogden Nash, as well as works by Bach, Vivaldi, Elgar, and a new toccata by Graeme Rawson. Artists also appearing are soprano, Diane Stanford, bass baritone and narrator, Barry Strong, and Melissa Abraham on the trumpet and tuba.

2pm - Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Berrima

As part of the Shrine's annual Feastday, there will be an organ recital presented by Michael Taylor, immediately following the afternoon devotions (starting probably around 2pm). The programme is as follows:

Bonnet: Concert Variations
Boellman: Gothic Suite (Priere a Notre Dame and Toccata)
Dvorak: Largo from New World Symphony
Liszt: Fantasie on BACH

The organ is a Viscount Prestige V (2-manuals and pedals)
