THE CONCERT ORGAN – 1

Our King of Instrumentsprogram for 2022 on 2MBS Fine Music Sydney at 5pm on Saturday 8 January 2022 is the first in an occasional series featuring concert organs.

The two organs spotlighted in the program are:

* the 1997 Rieger organ of the Christchurch Town Hall, New Zealand (3 manuals, 42 speaking stops),

           played by Martin Setchell; and

 * the 1858 Gray and Davison organ of the Leeds Town Hall (originally much larger, but recorded in its 1972

incarnation of 3 manuals and 81 speaking stops), played by Simon Lindley.

There is so much music in the program that there wasn’t even space to include the opening theme — so sit back, relax and enjoy! The program contents are as set out below.
