largest Episcopal communities in the United States. The Cathedral Choir under his
direction records and tours widely in the United States and Great Britain. He also

featuring French music on the C.B. Fisk organ at Oberlin’s Finney Chapel; a recording
of music Franz Lizst played on the E.M. Skinner organ at Jefferson Avenue

have attracted critical praise and have been broadcast nationally on Pipedreams.

A native of Ohio, he is a graduate of Oberlin College, where he earned a BA in
English literature as well as a B. Mus in Organ Performance under the tutelage of
Haskell Thomson. He earned his MM and MMA degrees at Yale University as a
pupil of Thomas Murray and he is currently a candidate for the DMA. In 1997,
Jared Johnson was awarded a Watson Fellowship for a year’s study of choral
music and conducting in London, UK. He is also the recipient of Oberlin’s
Houston Prize for Distinguished work in organ and music theory and Yale’s
