S.T. Noad & Son 1968 (2/6 extension, electro-pneumatic)

From SOJ Autumn 1996:

The first organ in the church was a Compton electronic which was probably purchased in the 1950s. By 1968, the electronic componetry had seen better days and S.T. Noad & Sons were instructed to build a pipe organ for the church reusing part of the Compton organ including the console.

The organ consists of 5 ranks with electric action. The ranks are Great: Principal, Dulciana, Swell: Gedackt, Gemshorn, Quint, [Trumpet added 1999 - see below].

Ian D. Brown & Associates have recently completed work on the organ to move the console and extend the main cable.

Graham Jones added this note by personal email to the Society, plus supplied the photographs:

About 1999 a Trumpet rank (61 pipes) was added to the Great Organ by Ian D Brown & Associates, in memory of (Mrs.) Grace Warne (my mother-in-law) who was organist at Beecroft for about 25 years from c.1965 to c.1990.
