“24 Pieces en Style Libre” by Louis Vierne will be presented.
This broadcast will feature the whole of Volume 1, and later
this year we will hear Volume 2.

These wonderful miniatures are written on two staves and
intended for either organ or harmonium. Despite their brevity
they still give a powerful glimpse into Vierne’s world of astringent
chromaticism.

These performances are all on a large (un-named) organ, and
the player is Gunther Kaunziner.
