The Bell Organ and Piano company started in 1871 under the name W Bell and Company. In 1887 the company name was changed to Bell Organ and Piano company, and changed again in 1907 to Bell Piano and Organ company. That means this harmonium was manufactured somewhere between 1887 and 1907.

Above is a (low resolution) photo of the harmonium. As you can see the cabinet is in very good condition, as is the keyboard. I'm not sure what timber the cabinet is made of. It might be cedar, but that is just a guess.

Mechanically it barely makes a sound, so I imagine the mechanism needs a full restoration.

As a piece of furniture, I think it is gorgeous, but we have now moved into a retirement village and we simply do not have the space for it. So it is currently sitting in storage looking for a new home.

If there is any further info you would like, or some additional/higher resolution photos, please let me know.

If you would like to speak to me, my home number is 9488 5225, and my mobile number is 0416 125 244.
